Industrial Survey Technician

JOB DESCRIPTION:

This position reports to the Lead Surveyor and supports surveying activities for active construction projects. The Survey Technician performs field surveying, data collection, and assists with integrating survey data into engineering and construction workflows.

Responsibilities:

  • Perform land and topographic surveys on active job sites.
  • Operate and maintain surveying instruments (total stations, GPS equipment).
  • Collect and record accurate field measurements and data.
  • Assist with preparation of survey maps, drawings, and digital files.
  • Work closely with engineers and project managers to verify site layouts.

Skills & Experience Developed:

  • Surveying methods and equipment operation.
  • Interpretation of survey data for civil construction applications.
  • Site layout, grading, and elevation verification.
  • Data processing and CAD integration.

Qualifications:

  • Degree or training in Surveying, Civil Engineering, or Construction (or equivalent experience).
  • Familiarity with GPS and surveying equipment preferred.
  • Basic knowledge of AutoCAD or surveying software.
  • Strong attention to detail and mathematical skills.
