Project Estimator
JOB DESCRIPTION:
This position reports to the Estimator and assists with preparing cost estimates, bids, and proposals. The Project Estimator evaluates construction plans, analyzes costs, and supports budgeting and bid preparation.
Responsibilities:
- Review drawings and specifications for quantity take-offs.
- Prepare detailed cost estimates and bid packages.
- Collect and analyze pricing from suppliers and subcontractors.
- Track project costs and assist with budget reporting.
- Research materials, construction methods, and best practices.
Skills & Experience Developed:
- Estimating principles and quantity take-offs.
- Budgeting and cost analysis.
- Interpretation of project specifications and contract documents.
- Vendor communication and bid preparation.
- Proficiency with HCSS HeavyBid, Agtek, and CAD systems.
Qualifications:
- Degree or experience in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or related field.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel; estimating software experience a plus.
- Strong math and analytical skills.
- Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills.
